2. Data Security

You have to take care of your data. It is always better to take care beforehand. You should keep data backups. Depending on your requirement, you should plan for regular backups. It is always better to take weekly backups. If data is very important, you can take daily backups or hourly backups. So plan your backup schedule.

3. RAID Drive

If your data is very important, you should use RAID drives. What is RAID? RAID is the abbreviation of the Redundant Array of Intelligent/Inexpensive Disks. But there are different RAID types. Whenever hard disk crashes, user tries for data restoration. Crashing of hard disk can happen any time. Hard disk is mechanical device. Everytime your hard drive rotates, there is a wear and tear. It is better to be prepared as your data is at stake. Crashing hard disk is the common problem. In this case the valuable data has to be restored. People use Raid configuration to preserve data. RAID improves speed and data availability. Data safety is higher in case of RAID systems. Many people don't back up RAID systems because they're 'fault tolerant' – however they're not 'fault proof'. So even if you use RAID drives, it is better to take regular data backup. Take a look to understand RAID drives.

4. Laptop can be used as Desktop

They also offer 30 MB briefcase where you can store your files. This is a free online storage where you can store important files.

7. What is new at Google ?

~*~*~*~*~|~*~*~*~*~|~*~*~*~*~|~*~*~*~*~|~*~*~*~*~|~*~*~*~*~ “Desktop search” was introduced by Google. This is not new but it is very useful. And it is free also. Sometimes I save important files in my documents and after some days I generally don’t remember where I have stored. What was the name of the file. But I generally remember the content of the file. But recently I downloaded Google desktop and now I don’t have remember the file names and keep track of the file. Because “google desktop ” is doing it for me. Just enter the keyword or some content in the search and google desktop software will search it for you.

It can search your email files, media files, Web history and even chats. It even shows the cache of the webpages you have visited. With this fantastic tool, you can directly search from your desktop. Just download it and check the power of google desktop search.

10. Embedded Computer

Why embedded computer was developed? Where it is used? The big process plants are controlled on Industrial computers. They employ special operating system which is very reliable. Sometimes our PC gets hang. But in industry, if you are controlling a critical process through a PC and during the process run, if PC hangs, it can lead to accident or dangerous condition depending on process. Here you can’t afford to take chances. Such type of systems are controlled through embedded computers with RTOS ( Real time opearting system).
