Disk Boot Failure Error 

PC Boot disk failure is very common error. Always keep a boot disk handy to reboot the system. Every computer owner gets this error some or the other day. PC boot disk failure from power blip is one of the reason.

Reasons for disk boot failure

Let us find out the reasons for boot disk failure. Generally these are due to master boot record failure. So it is better to find out how to tackle “ Disk boot failure error”.

If you don’t set the boot options properly in CMOS or if all the boot devices set are not bootable, you get the boot disk failure error. If you put non bootable CD in the CDROM, you get this error. These are the some of the reasons for the boot disk error.

1) Floppy disk drive not connected

2) Floppy drive not functioning

3) No disk in the floppy drive

4) Hard drive is not connected

5) There are no bootable active partition on hard drive.

You will have to Set the boot options in CMOS.

1) Floppy drive 2) CD ROM drive 3) Hard drive 4) other

Whenever you get the any of the above errors, you should be very careful. It may be a pre warning for disk failure. Don’t worry but you should take the regular backup. It is better to invest in good backup software. Your data is precious. As the hard drive prices are dropping down, you can go for second hard drive or external hard drive. External hard drives come with USB 2.0 interface.
