Floppy Drive

Floppy drive - Floppy is the old way of storing data. If you want to read / write floppies, go for it. There is really nothing much to know about them. Floppy Disk Drives are very cheap. Just buy one that looks alright and start your work. A lot of PCs now boast more advanced media such as ZIP drives or maybe an LS-120. These can be useful, given that 1.44MB for a floppy is barely anything. Plus, they are slow as hell. Again, try to buy the largest size (measured in GB - Gigabytes) you can afford.Recent Computer Hard drives come in three 'speeds': ATA33, ATA66 and ATA100. Check and make sure that your HDD is having suitable speed for your motherboard.Now a days even external Hard drives are also available.

But internal Hard drives are cheap compared to external hard drives. Always check the physical condition and check the jumper diagram on the drive. IDE type are best. Get a drive with a good balance of speed and temperature. As higher speed drive will require cooling arrangement. And lower speed drive will access memory slowly. Considering this fact, always go for medium speed available in the market. SCSI drives give very high speed. But you require additional hardware for SCSI drive to interface it with SCSI bus. Hence I recommend IDE type Hard drive.

CD ROM R/W drive

Basic CD ROM drive can read the data on CD. It is very cheap. But go for CD writer, if you want store back up data on CD. If you would like to play DVDs on your computer get a DVD-ROM. I recommend getting both a CD-Writer and a DVD-ROM for your cheap computer. Now a days combo drives are available which has all the above mentioned functions in one drive. ie CD Read, CD write and DVD play.

Cheap Computer CD ROM Drive

This cheap computer part will enhance the overall functionality of your computer.Go for 48x or better. I recommend CD writer as there is very nominal price difference in CD writer and CD reader. An IDE CD-ROM drive will also be useful, as most of today's software packages are supplied on CD as standard. It's also nice to listen to music CD's once in a while too. This is the very useful cheap computer part for multimedia applications. It enhances audio, video functions of your PC.
