Error 0x8024402c is the commonly occurred Windows Update error. The main cause of this error is the presence of an incorrect character in the proxy override settings.

  • Incorrect character exists in the proxy override settings.

Solution to the error 0x8024402c 

1) Remove the incorrect characters from the proxy exception list...

a) Open Internet Explorer.

b) Click on the Tools.

c) Click on the Internet Options.

d) Click on the Connections tab.

e) Click on LAN Settings.

f) Click Advance.

g) Delete any entry in the Exceptions section.

h) Quit Internet Explorer.

2) Clear the proxy cache...

a) Click Start.

b) Click Run.

c) Type cmd in the box.

d) Click OK.

e) At the command prompt, type proxycfg -d, press Enter.

f) At the command prompt, type net stop wuauserv, press Enter.

g) At the command prompt, type net start wuauserv, press Enter.
